Leonard Birdwood HATELEY was born at Nhill, Victoria on 3rd April, 1917 - his birth was registered as Lenard Bainwood Hateley

His parents were William Ernest HATELEY and Hilda May JAMES

Leonard was Killed in Action on 9th July, 1945 and is buried in Bomana War Cemetery, Plot B4, Row B, Grave 10

His name is memorialised on the Australian War Memorial and the Roll of Honour in Dimboola.
