Son of John and Emily LAYTON, of South Grafton, NSW

Vivian enlisted at Gravton in August 1915 in the 5th Light Horse and left Australia in October 1915.  He was sent to Palestine, and was in action at Roumani, Raffa, Gaza and Jerusalem.  At Raffa he was wounded in the left thigh.
