James Morphett HENDERSON was born in Perth in Western Australia on 28th February, 1915
His parents were Leo Morphett HENDERSON & Dorothea Meville CUDMORE who married on 28th January, 1914 in Glenelg, South Australia
He had previously served for 3 years in the St Peters College Cadet Corps before enlisting to serve in the RAAF

His father Leo Morphett HENDERSON (SN 38) served as a Trooper in the Boer War with the 2nd South Australian Mounted Rifles
