Son of George Joseph and Irene Hilda Henry, of Yenda, New South Wales.

On the 29th April 1944, the late Flight Sergeant Henry was admitted to No. 4 R.A.A.F. Hospital, from General Reconnaissance School, Bairnsdale.  He was found to be suffering from acute pericarditis and was placed on the Seriously Ill list, his next of kin being so notified.

On 1st May 1944 his condition deteriorated to such an extent that he was recategorized and placed on the Dangerously Ill list, and his next of kin notified.

On 4th May 1944, the late Flight Sergent Henry's parents arrived at Sale from Yenda, NSW.  The patient's condition rapidley grew worse and at 0100 hours on 6th May 1944 death occurred.  Mr. and Mrs. Henry, the parents, were present with the Commandng Officer at his death.

A post mortem examination was conducted by Wing Commander I.G. McLean, President, Central Medical Board (who was visiting the unit) on 6th May, 1944.  It was found that death was due to ulcerativie endocarditis and pericarditis.

Deceased was buried with Service honours in the Services Section Grave no B13 at Sale Cemetery after a service at the Sale Cathedral (Church of England) at 1400 hours on 7th May 1944.  A bearer party of 2 officers and 6 non-commissioned officers was provided by the deceased's unit for the funeral, which was attended by his parents and the Commanding Officer of this Unit, accompanied by2 of his officers.  The service was conducted by Chaplain J.D. Sanson, Chruch of England Pardre from Air Gunnery  School, West Sale.
