Missing Soldier
Body Found in River The body of Francis John Hill (22) the soldier who had been missing for a month, was found in the Macquarie river at Dubbo. The body is believed to have been in the water since the time of Hill's disappearance, it was in a badly decomposed state when found.
The conclusion that it was obvious deceased had been drowned while attempting to cross the river to get to Dubbo where his wife was in hospital with a newly born infant .
