Ormond Thomas Gware HITCHEN was born on 14th July, 1918 in Gilgandra, New South Wales

His parents were Thomas George HITCHEN & Zilpah Myrtle MacKELLAR who married in NSW in 1915

He had previously served with the 6th Light Horse Regiment beofre he enlisted on 23rd May, 1940 in Sydney with 2nd/7th Cavalry Commando Regiment

Ormond was Killed in Action in Papua on 19th December, 1942 and is buried in the Bomana Cemetery
