"...QX61374 Private John Archie Holden, 25th Battalion AIF, of Kogan, Qld. A truck driver prior to enlistment, Pte Holden joined the Citizen's Military Force (CMF) in 1940 and served in Queensland until being sent to Milne Bay, New Guinea in 1943. In 1944 the unit became part of the AIF and went on to serve at Madang and, from November, at Torokina, Bougainville. Pte Holden was killed in action at Torokina on 5 February 1945.
