Biography

Alan Armytage HOLDSWORTh was born on 23rd March, 1913 in Hawksburn, Victoria

His parents were Albert Armytage HOLDSWORTh and Annie ALLEN

He enlisted with the Australian Army on 24th June 1940 

Alan was Killed in Action on 22nd July 1942, Egypt - his posting at death was a Sergeant with the 2/23 Australian Infantry Battalion

His father was Colonel Albert Armytage HOLDSWORTH, DSO, VOD who served in both the Boer War & WW1

His brother Norman Armytage HOLDSWORTH (SN VX80976) also served in WW2 and was discharged in 1946
