"...QX24077 Lance Corporal (L/Cpl) Mervyn George Holland, 49 Battalion, of Narrabri, NSW. He was a station hand prior to enlisting in October 1941. L/Cpl Holland was killed in action in Papua on 7 December 1942. He was 26 years of age." - SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)
