HIS DUTY FEARLESSLY AND NOBLY DONE EVER REMEMBERED
DIED IN SIAM
Gunner Daniel Stewart Holmes, youngest son of Mr and Mrs S Holmes of Quambatook, is reported to have died on December 29,
1943, while a Prisoner of war in Siam. Gunner Holmes was a member of the 4th Anti-tank Regiment, and was captured when Singapore fell.
Brother Raymond Stanley Holmes 4th Anti Tank Regiment was also captured at the Fall of Singapore and also a POW who returned to Australia.
Survived by his parents, fiance Mollie, sisters Jean Walton, Letitia King, Hazel Cameron, and brothers Gordon, Leonard, Raymond, William and, Keith.
