LAC Crockford 431041 and Pilot Officer Howard 414138 of Number 10 Elementary Flying Training School were killed in the loss of Tiger Moth aircraft A17-443 near Temora Aerodrome in NSW - their aircraft collided in flight with A17-179 piloted by LAC Peter Roderick Armstrong 430744 who survived and was discharged from the RAAF in September 1944
