The sad news yesterday was received by Mr. R. E. James, manager of the Mackay branch of the Commonwealth Bank, that his only son, Navigatlng-Sergeant Lionel Heyman  James, who has been posted missing since the great air raids on Cologne three months ago, is now presumed to have been killed in action. Navigator James won recognition for  his skilful work in the massed attack on Cologne, and his name figured prominently in the cabled reports of that operation. A few days later news was received that he was missing. The telegram received yesterday from the Air Board states that it is now presumed he lost his life in operations on June 20, and that information to that effect is based on reports  received through the International Red Cross, quoting German sources.
