Private Thomas Andrew Kamore (Service No:QX19803) enlisted in the AIF on 19 June 1941 with 7 Infantry Training Battalion, and served in the Middle East (31 October 1941 - 10 April 1942) with 2/25th Infantry Battalion. Private Kamore was attached to 2/9th Infantry Battalion when he embarked with his Unit from Brisbane for New Guinea on 7 August 1942. Private Kamore was KiA (Died of Wounds) at Buna on 18 December 1942.

Tom was born in Chinderah, New South Wales in 1919, third of four children (and only son) of Thomas Kamore (b1870 in the Solomon Islands) and Emily Thorpe (b1895 in Nanango, QLD). Thomas (a Seaman) and Emily married in 1909 in Murwillumbah, New South Wales, and settled at Chinderah via Murwillumbah where they raised their family and Thomas was a Labourer. Following Thomas' death in 1941, Emily moved to Brisbane and then to Bayrick Station via Augathella where she remarried.

Tom was working as a Labourer in Nambour QLD in 1941 when he enlisted in the Army.
