Norman Francis Karkoe NX40344 was taken on strength of the 2/19th Infantry Battalion on 26 April 1941 and reported missing in Malaya on 16 February 1942. He was reported as a Prisoner of War in Osaka, Japan on 14 July 1943 and was recovered from the Japanese on 26 September 1945

He died of injuries sustained from a motor cycle accident near Cowra on 24 November 1945
