Roderick Oliver KAYESS was born in Yenda, NSW on 1st September, 1923

His parents were Oliver KAYESS and Belinda (Linda) HOPPING who married in the Presbyterian Church in Auburn, NSW in 1915

His twin brother Stewart George KAYESS (SN NX106827) also served in the Army during WW2 and was discharged on 12th April, 1946 (14th Australian Field Ambulance)

His father Oliver KAYESS served during WW1 (SN 59330) and returned to Australia in 1919 - he also served during WW2 (SN N66037) and was discharged on 21st November, 1946
