Son of Frederick Charles and Vida Azella Kearns of Maclean, NSW

 

Leading Aircraftman Kearns 63459 of Number 3 Mobile Works Squadron at Gould airstrip (Batchelor, NT) was caught in the caterpillar tracks of his bulldozer while attempting to dismount from it while it was in motion.

His brother, Corporal Maurice Ainslie Kearns, Service Number 60046 served in the RAAF in WWII until he was  discharged 17 Apr 1946 [Posting at Discharge 15 SQUADRON]
