Add my storyBiography contributed by Faithe Jones
Son of Samuel Henry and Isabella Mathews Laver, of Toogoolawah, Queensland, Australia.
Roy Laver spent the years 1938 and 1939 and a short period of 1940 as a boarder at Toowong and left the Brisbane Grammar School to take a position with the National Bank of Australasia ater securing his Junior pass in 1939. Enlisting in the R.A.A.F. his ambition was to become a Pilot, and he earned his wings in May, 1943, and left almost immediately for Enlgand to complete his training. He was Pilot of a Halifax Bomber and lost his life in air operations over Europe on May 10th last. Of a bright and happy disposition he always took a keen interest in the College. Our deepest sympathy is extended to his parents Mr. and Mrs. S.H. Laver of Toogoolawah.
