DEATH OFFICIALLY
ANNOUNCED
--------
We were advised yesterday by telegrams that Army authorities have officially announced that John Lithgow Lawrence died of illness on 8th July, 1945. Deceased was the son of the late Mr. Mort Lawrence, Collie Road, and Mrs. Lawrence, the latter now residing in Sydney. "Jock" was a most popular lad and in company with Mr. Claude Stockings invented the Ajax Gas Producer before joining up. He was reported missing after the fall of Singapore and no further news had been received until the notification this week. He is survived by his mother and two sisters.
