Add my storyBiography contributed by Steve Farmer
Alfie was a descendant of two convicts Richard Loseby, Princess Royal 1822 and Mary Ann Rice, Grenada (4) 1827
Alife was born in Sydney on 7th April 1920
Alfie was a signalman and when his sergeant called for volunteers to fix a broken telephone line, Alfie volunteered and was hit by shrapnel.
My Dad (Alfie was his cousin) told me he could remember Alfie heading off to war in his uniform and carrying his gun. Dad also said the sergeant visited them at home when he was on leave and told them the story about how Alf died a hero.
