Thomas Cyril LETHBRIDGE was born on 9th December, 1906 in West Maitland NSW
His parents were Herbert William LETHBRIDGE and Gertrude Ann BAKER
He married Veronica IRWIN in 1927 (divorced in 1935)
He enlisted with the 2/10th Field Ambulance, Australian Army Medical Corp. on 27th June, 1940. He was one of over 200 allied prisoners of war held in the Sandakan POW camp in North Borneo having been transferred there from Singapore as a part of the B force. The 1494 POWs who made up B force were transported from Changi on7th July 1942 on board the tramp ship Ubi Maru arriving in Sandakan Harbour on 18th July 1942. Private Lethbridge died of malaria whilst a prisoner of the Japanese on 15th July 1945. Aged 38 years
