9 october 1942 Efogi & Norman Edward Lloyd birthday .
Lloyd was a forward scout on a patrol that left Efogi on 9 October 1942 probing for the Japanese along the track to Kagi and Templetons Crossing.
10 October1942 Myola was reoccupied by the Australians
11 October
The patrol met the Japanese between Kagi and Templetons Crossing and during the ensuing fire fight Lloyd and another 3rd Battalion soldier were killed.
His 20th birthday was on 9 October and his last letter home spoke of how he was looking forward to the birthday cake his parents had sent him.
