Sergeant Joseph Lockhart 401041 of 36SQN RAF was killed when Vickers Vildebeest K4168 was shot down over Singapore - also killed were Flight Lieutenant Richardson 40017 RAF and Sergeant Harris 755290 RAF
(First flown in 1928 the RAF Vickers Vildebeest was a large single-engined biplane used as a light bomber - the last few examples in service were flown against invading Japanese forces in Singapore and Java in early 1942)
