LAC Mahony 404653 was on a solo flight on the 25th of March in Tiger Moth A17-137 from Number 8 Elementary Flying School based at Narrandera

He was seriously injured when the aircraft crashed near Matong in NSW and he died on the 26th in Bradfield Park hospital
