Archie, known as Graham, was the third of four children. His father Archie was the Mayor of Broome, WA; he died in 1922 aged 45 (see obituary: https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/260938035). Both of his brothers (Theodore and Thomas) also enlisted in WWII; neither served overseas.
