Noel John Marsden was born in Goulburn, NSW on 25th December, 1920

His parents were Marsden Erle MANFRED & Mildred Ann REYNOLDS who married in Goulburn in 1917

He had previously served in the 7th Light Horse Regiment before he enlisted on 12th September, 1941 in the Royal Australian Air Force

His last rank was a Flying Officer in the 137 Squadron of the RAF

Flying Officer Noel John Marsden Manfred 413627 of 137 Squadron RAF crashed while flying Hawker Typhoon NM191 near Cologne, Germany

His aircraft was in a formation detailed to carry out an armed recce in the area of Sittard - Heidelberg, Germany. While carrying out an attack on German positions he was seen to fire his rockets and to pull out of his dive but was not located again by other pilots
