Driver E. A. (Neil) McArthur says: (December 1941)
Received your very, fine parcel on the 25th inst and would be pleased if you would pass on my thanks to your committee for same. Don't know of any Condo chaps that are  missing out. Noel Blackwell is the only other Condo representative in this unit and he also received a parcel on Wednesday. Not finding things too bad over here, have been doing a lot of driving and consequently have seen plenty of country without finding any thing to equal the good old open spaces of Aussie. Saw Allan Scott and Joe Mearns last week for  the first time since leaving Condo. They are both looking very fit, although not over impressed with Malay. Well the "cook house" bugle has just blown so had better sign off. Best  wishes for yourself and committee for the coming season.

We regret to report that official news was received on Friday stating that Edgar Allen (Neil) McArthur, A.I.F., died of illness on 11/11/43 whilst a Japanese Prisoner of War. To  Mrs  McArthur (nee Mary Dunstan) and relatives, we extend our sympathy.
