Wirraway aircraft A20-585 of 5SFTS collided with A20-613 on the ground at Belfrayden landing ground - the only fatality was LAC McCarthy 421998 who was sitting in the front seat of A20-585

The pilot of A20-585 was Sergeant Conway 205784 (discharged from the RAAF in February 1945 as a Warrant Officer)

The pilot of A20-613 was LAC Wannan 421948 (discharged from the RAAF in January 1946 as a Flight Lieutenant)
