James Jerald WILSON was born in Gisborne, Victoria on 6/7/1889. He had worked as a farmer but in 1913 joined the Victorian Police as a Constable.
He was stationed in Horsham when he enlisted on 7/6/1916.
He was appointed to the 38th Battalion reinforcements and left Australia on 20/6/1916 aboard the HMAT Runic.
He saw service with the 10th Infantry Brigade Headquarters and was twice wounded during this service.
He returned to Australia in May 1919 and resumed his police career.
He was stationed at Manangatang, Wycheproof and West Melbourne. He retired for the force in 1949 with the rank of Inspector.
James died at Heidelberg in 1966.
