Notification of Death

A diary written by my father, Warrant Officer A H Green, NX 422500, was discovered during the Covid lockdowns. The diary was handed in to Australian War Memorial for safe keeping.

The diary contains information about W/O Alex McGee who was a good friend of my father in civilian life growing up in the Eastern suburbs of Sydney.

After hearing of McGee's death from his sister Pat, Green wrote to the Wing Commander of Squadron 458 for details.

I have attached a copy of the Wing Commander's reply dated 22 June 1944, as well as a photo of McGee and Green together.
