Son of George Edward McGoven and Marion nee Wallard formerly Allen and Everett.
Brother Edward George McGovern was in the RAAF WW2. Service No136281. He preferred to be known as McGovern rather than McGoven.
Cause of death- Dysentery.
Survived by his mother, brother and his wife Edith plus three nieces.
DUBBO SOLDIER'S DEATH
IN ENEMY PRISON CAMP
Sydney, Tuesday.
Pte. S. It. McGovern, Infantryman, Dubbo, has died in an enemy prisoner-of-war camp. News of his death is contained in a casualty list issued today. Previously reported (prisoner of war, he is now listed as having died of illness while a prisoner of war.
