Son of James and Matilda McMILLAN, Oxley, via Wangaratta, Vic.

William enjoyed cycling, fishing and shooting.

Sergeant William Thomas McMillan 403008 of Number 60 Operational Training Unit RAF was killed when Defiant N3495 crashed near Linton, East Lothian, Scotland - also killed: Sergeant Trevor Hartley Jones 1311958 RAF

Word was received in Port Macquarie by friends, from his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James McMillan, of Oxley, Victoria, that Sergeant Pilot William Thomas McMillan had been killed in an aircraft  Accident in England on 4th January. The deceased enlisted from Kempsey, and worked as a bricklayer on the new Catholic Church at Port Macquarie for five or six months. He was called up for  service after leaving here.
