William Walter McNICKLE was born on 7th December, 1912 in Parkes, New South Wales
His parents were Andrew John McNICKLE & Ida BOLTON
He enlisted in Wagga Wagga on 28th June, 1940
William died on 4th February, 1942 in New Guinea -his death was presumed - his name is memorialised on the Australian War Memorial & the Rabaul Memorial
His brother Frederick Field McNICKLE (SN35775) was with him in the same unit (8th Division Supply Column) and also died on the same day
