Herbert Lawrence MILLER was born on 17th March, 1915 in Alexandria, Sydney

His parents were James Lawrence MILLER & Margaret Ellen SLATTERY

He enlisted in Forest Lodge, Sydney on 29th April, 1941 and served in B Company 55/53 Battalion as a Driver (Australian Citizen Military Forces)

Herbert is presumed to have died on 7th December, 1942 on the Kokoda Trail but his body was never found - He is memorialized on the Port Moresby War Cemetery (Bomana) Panel 7 and the Roll of Honour in Alexandria & the Australian War Memorial

His Mother Margaret posted a message in a newspaper which states -

"Driver Herbert Miller, B Company, 55/53 Battalion -Reported missing, now presumed dead.  Any further news would be appreciated by his Mother, Mrs. M. Miller, 54 Suttor St, Alexandria"  Sadly there was no more news about her son
