LAC Murphy 23214 was discharged 30 May 1942 on compassionate grounds due to the health of his wife while serving at HQ RAAF Station Maryborough (Queensland).  However, his death late in 1945 was attributed to his war service by the Repatriation Commission.  

George Murphy previously served in the Militia with Army Number 9282
