Add my storyBiography contributed by John E
"Word was received by his parents yesterday that Mervyn Murray, of "Truth" staff, had been killed in action. This youngster was, at the time of his enlistment in the Army, a cadet on this newspaper's editorial staff, and alas one of the most promising juniors in the ranks of local journalists, with a fine future stretching before him. An old St. James's School boy, Merv. was, though physically only a handful, a fine athlete, a good footballer and a clever and courageous amateur boxer, who, won a number of tournaments after leaving school. More than all this, he mas a likeable, generous, courteous and genial lad. He deserves the peace that is surely his." - from the Brisbane Truth 15 Jul 1945 (nla.gov.au)
