HIS DUTY FEARLESSLY AND NOBLY DONE EVER REMEMBERED
Private Edward Mussing, of Murwillumbah, has died whilst a prisoner of war in Japanese hands in Thailand. This information has been received by his mother, Mrs I. Mussing, of Byangum Road, Murwillumbah.
The Army letter stated that the authorities obtained the information from Australians who escaped from the Japanese prison ship sunk last year, but that it was otherwise uncorroborated. Pte. Edward Mussing went to school in Murwillumbah; enlisted in 1940, and was taken prisoner in Malaya. Pte Mussing died of colitis. He was a member of the 8th Division.
