Biography

Creighton Carlyle OGILVIE was born on 29th July, 1919 in Gunnedah, NSW

His parents were James Grant OGILVIE and Lena Meta WESTERWELLER

He enlisted on 3rd February 1941 in the Royal Australian Air Force and trained as a pilot.  He flew Wellington bombers with the 26 Operational Training Unit (RAF) Sergeant (SERN: 403599)

His plane was shot down by a German night fighter and he was killed over Overhetfeld, Germany on 11th September, 1942

He is buried in Rheinberg War Cemetery (Grave ref.  2 B 9 ) he is also commemorated on the Australian War Memorial & the Roll of Honour in Gunnedah
