COMMISSIONED ENGINEER R. P. ORAM. lost in H.M.A.S. Parramatta, leaves a wife and two children. His wife, formerly Miss Edyth Glass, of Hobart, resides in Manly, N.S.W. He was born in London, and during the First World War served in the Royal Navy. He was a member of the crew which brought the first submarines to Australia. In 1929 he joined the R.A.N. and received his commission in 1939. He served in various R.A.N. ships before joining the Parramatta last July. He was in the Waterhen when she was sunk some months ago, and then transferred to the Parramatta. His mother lives in England.
