David McPherson OSWIN was born on 3rd January 1925 in Mosman, Sydney NSW
His parents were George Louis OSWIN and Edna Scotia THOMSON
He enlisted on 30th January 1943 with the Royal Australian Air Force - he was a Flight Sergeant with the 4 Communication Unit Archerfield
David died on 22nd July 1944 near Hamilton Flying Boat base in Brisbane in a non operational exercise during a naval co-operative exercise when their Vultee Vengeance A 27 -535 stuck the mast of a ship and nose dived into the river bank near Hamilton wharf - the inquest found that pilot error of judgement was the cause of the accident - his navigator was also killed
He is buried in Lutwyche Cemetery in Brisbane, Queensland - Plot Part Anzac, Portion 7, section 7, grave 55

Sydney. Sergeant David McPherson Oswin , pilot of Mosman, Sydney and Flight Sergeant James Frank Petit, navigator of Inglewood (western Australia) were killed at Brisbane on Saturday when a RAAF aircraft struck the mast of a ship during naval co-operational exercises
The two airmen were buried with full military honours in the military portion of Lutwyche Cemetery.
