HIS DUTY NOBLY DONE...EVER REMEMBERED
Captured at the fall of Singapore and died from dysentery and ulcers.
He was survived by his parents and sisters Blanche Baker and Mollie Patrick.
A number of friends were present at a surprise party, given recently, at Bolt's Ecole de Danse, the occastion being a send-off to "Doug" Paice, who has joined the A.I.F. An enjoyable evenign was spent in dancing, games and singing. Supper was served by the ladies. "Doug" was the recipient of many useful presents.
Word has been received by Mr. and Mrs. E. Paice, of Macauley-street, that their son, Pte. G. D. Paice, has been reported missing in the Malayan campaign.
Mr. and Mrs. E. Paice, of Macauley Street, have received the sad news that their son, Pte. G.D. Paice (Doug) died of illness in P.O.W. camp on November 2, 1943. Our very sincere sympathy. The young soldier enlisted over four years ago and was on of those taken prisoner at the fall of Singapore.
