Add my storyBiography contributed by Graham Prior
Two poignant verses from a poem written by his mate Private Neale.
For somewhere in New Guinea young Charlie Parry lies In a lonely little graveyard Beneath the bright New Guinea skies. But he'll never be forgotten by the ones that loved him dear, His mother broken hearted and his wife shed many tears.
He died fighting for Australia up there where things are tough Like many young Australians but they never had enough. They knew the job they had to do, a job that must be done In swamp infested jungle Neath the blazing of the sun....
Charles Parry St, Crescent Head is named for him
