Son of John Robinson Pastfield and Elizabeth Olive Pastfield.

David Barnabas Edward PASTFIELD was born in Exeter in England on 10th June 1904

His parents were John Robinson PASTFIELD & Elizabeth Olive CROWTHER nee OLDHAM

He went to Canada in 1923 and had Military Training in 1925 in Ottawa, Ontario & during WW2 he enlisted in the Army in Australia and served with the Australian Defence Canteen Services in the Northern Territory

David died by suicide in Mount Isa, Queensland on 25th June, 1943 and was first buried in the Mt Isa Cemetery and reburied on 14th May, 1945 in the Adelaide River War Cemetery, Northern Territory.

Two of his brothers died during WW1 whilst serving with the British Forces

1. Lieutenant James Thomas PASTFIELD - Northam Regiment died 21st December 1914 on the Western Front

2. Lieutenant Joseph Victor PASTFIELD - Middlesex Regiment died 1916

3. His nephew L.A. CORBETT of the Royal Navy died in 1940 of injuries
