Aircraftman Thomas Raymond Patience 81984 (Plant Operator) from Number 2 Mobile Works Squadron was killed by a boulder during gravel pit work at Wards Strip, New Guinea
He got down from his dozer to talk to a mate and was struck by a boulder dislodged by another dozer working elsewhere in the gravel pit
