Billy Pedersen was nephew of William Hurst, whose sister Jane was married to Carl Pedersen, a Norwegian from Trondheim. He had 4 sisters. Carl Pedersen Snr and William Hurst jointly owned the farm Manaring in Narrogin. Before that Carl Pedersen Snr and William Hurst had adjoining gold mines in Darlot, 1895-1907, about 80 miles north of Leonora. Jane Pedersen (Hurst) died of Spanish Flu in 1919 in Narrogin, the family moved to Belmont, near Perth. No additional information until his enlistment and departure to the Middle East.
