PTE HECTOR JENKIN PHILIPSON
Advice has been received of the death from illness of Pte. Hector Jenkins Philipson on 8th November, 1943, whilst a prisoner of war in Siam. He was 28 years of age.
Pte. Philipson who was the youngest son of Mr. & Mrs. N.C. Philipson of Bowen Road, Proserpine, enlisted from Proserpine. He left Australia for active service with the 2/26th Battalion, 8th Division. A native of Proserpine, he attended the state rural school after which he assisted his father on the farm. He was a Proserpine representative footballer.
