Son of George and Linda Quittenton; husband of Stella Quittenton, of Canterbury, Victoria, Australia.
HE DIED A HERO
Word has been received by Mrs. M. Quittenton of Highfield-rd., Canterbury, that her husband, W./O Matthew Quittenton, 37, was executed by the Japanese for attempted escape from prison camp at Tavoy. Burma, in June, 1942. W./O. Quittenton enlisted in 1940 and left for Singapore in 1941. Before, enlisting he was employed by the Metropolitan Fire Brigade.
