Husband of Florence Olive Bailey, 572 Crown Street, Surry Hills, New South Wales. Florence later re-married to a Charles Wheeler

disembarked Alexandria from Gallipoli, 23 December 1915 (bronchitis); admitted to No 1 Auxiliary Hospital, Heliopolis, 23 December 1915; transferred to Overseas Base, Ghezirah, 30 December 1915.

Transferred to Imperial School of Instruction, Zeitoun, 27 March 1916; promoted Temporary Corporal, 27 March 1916.

Admitted to No 4 Auxiliary Hospital, Abbassia, 9 June 1916; transferred to British Red Cross Convalescent Hospital, Montazah, 15 July 1916 (enteric); discharged to duty, Tel-el-Kebir, 7 August 1916.

Proceeded overseas to France, 27 August 1916.

Taken on strength, 2nd Australian Divisional Base Depot, Etaples, 24 September 1916; reverted to Private, 25 September 1916; promoted Temporary Corporal, 27 September 1916.
