Pilot Officer Edgar Ray 410380 was killed when Mustang KH476 (44-10833) of 249SQN RAF crashed on a mission in the Salonika coast area of Greece during which four locomotives were destroyed.

His loss is referred to in the book "249 at war" by Brian Cull
