DUTY WELL AND NOBLY DONE

FLYING-OFFICER N. L. REDFORD
Advice has been received by his parents at Gymbowen from the Air Board that Flying Officer Norman Louis Redford, a member of the RAAF abroad, is reported missing, believed killed, as the result of  operational duties overseas on November 4. No further details are available at present. Born at Goroke 20 years ago, F.O. Redford was educated at the Nurcoung State School and later at the Horsham  High School. Four and a half years ago he joined the staff of the Union Bank at Stawell, later transferring to Dimboola, and at the time of his enlistment in the RAAF was attached to the Eastern branch  of the bank in Melbourne. He inlisted for service in August, 1942, and after training at various Victorian stations, gained his commission as a navigator at Balalrat in October, 1943. He sailed for overseas in  November, 1943, and has since been attached to various RAAF squadrons in the United Kingdom.
