Staff Cadet John Reid 955 was killed in a military truck accident while taking part in manoeuvres near Queanbeyan.
Prior to commencing as a cadet at the RMC School of Instruction (Australian Instructional Corps) he had seen active service abroad.
He enlisted in July 1942 - Service Number VX87334 (V54993) with 5 BN (VSR) (Number 5 Battalion - The Victorian Scottish Rifles)
